University Of The Incarnate Word Cardinals

Arkansas State's Red Wolves have included the "incarnated" Cardinals in their 2020 football plan, the school announced Tuesday. The Cardinals' conference game against the Red Wolves, scheduled for Saturday, September 1, was canceled because of a concussion problem that rendered them ineligible to play. The Cardinals (2-2, 1-1 Sun Belt Conference) meet Saturday at 7: 30 p.m. at the University of Arkansas - Fort Worth Stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Conference opponents or conference opponents who can form a clash of the different sports teams of the schools. The Cardinals of the Incarnate Word can participate in the Sun Belt Conference, the American Athletics Conference and the Mountain West Conference.

The narrowness and fear of a pandemic could not prevent the UIW cardinals from serving, as they could volunteer in their community throughout the city. Classes went online after spring recess, but the Cardinals are still on track to do 347.5 hours of community service in the fourth quarter of the year.

The Cardinals lead the Southland Conference with an average of 472.0 yards per game, and their four defensive touchdowns lead the SLC and rank fifth in the nation. However, the UIW has not won in four games against a DI program this year and is winless in three road contests. Academically, all UI W-athletes have achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 4.5 or higher this fall, which is good for the second-in-the-conference and third-out of all FBS schools.

The Cardinals are 18-37 in the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly known as DI-A), and they went from 1-10 in 2017 to 6-5 last year to earn the regular Southland Conference season title and a trip to the NCAA tournament. The men's swim and water jump team won its second consecutive SLC title, the second-best record in the program's history and the third-best in the school's history. Women's basketball, led by captain and first-team honorary player leader Kaitlyn Johnson, has nine more wins to its name by 2019 - 20 more than 2018 - and earned its third consecutive title.

The Cardinals qualified for the Southland Conference Tournament with a 3-1 record in the regular season and a 2-0 record in the NCAA tournament. The NCAA spring-season championships end at Texas A & M University - Corpus Christi on Saturday, February 17 at 3 p.m. During this period, several popular championship events take place, including the men's and women's basketball and wrestling championships, as well as the football and volleyball championships.

The highlight of the fall sports calendar is the NCAA Bowl Games, which take place in December and January, and the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

UIW is home to Sullivan Field, which adjoins many of the campus's residential complexes, and the lots are free for baseball and typically can accommodate baseball crowds. The UIW students are very supportive of the baseball team, as there is a large international population at the school. Students from the Caribbean and Mexico are particularly ardent supporters of our baseball program.
