Roan Forest Elementary School Reviews

I have a kinder and 4th grader here. My kinder loves this school and has learned so much through the core curriculum. My son enjoyed 3rd grade, but he is highly stressed out in 4th grade. The teachers put a lot of pressure on the kids to maintian the high TAKS scores. Towards the end of the year, the staff seems to be quite stressed out, especially in the older grades. My son gets off of the bus every day and tells me he does not want to go back to this school. So, even though your child will get an excellent education here, be prepared for frequent complaining.

10! It is the winner of the 'Blue Ribbon' award as a school in the state of Texas and we are so proud that our daughter attends this magnificent school!

Excelent school. My daughter is learning a lot and very fast. Roan Forest help kids to do their best.

Excellent. I'm impress with the curriculum, the teachers and the principal lidership.

I just transferred my daughter from a private school to Roan Forest and am so glad I did! They have great teachers, facilities and equipment. Their curriculum is awesome and I love how the school exposes students to famous artists. The parent involvement is phenomonal. Coming from a school where you were not allowed in the school at all, I just love being able to get invovled and having rights as a parent! All this time I was living near an excellent school and paying for an education for my daughter somewhere else. What a waste of money!

Has the best teachers in the area and is an exemplary school in texas. Ranked TOP in elementary schools in Texas by the Texas Monthly magazine

Last year was my sons first year at Roan Forrest. I found the staff and teachers to be of vast help.

We love this school! My husbands job may cause us to move, but we're actually thinking of us staying and him going, just coming back on weekends because the school is so good. They have great programs for pe, music and art. My daughter now knows more about artists than I ever knew at her age. I find it thrilling to learn with her about the artists. She can pick out Matisse in a book store. The school also has an art gallery in the center of it. The faculty is WONDERFUL, and I could not have asked to have a better school experiance!

My children are so lucky to have such a wonderful school!

Roan Forest has a great art program and the Core Knowledge program is amazing. The only concern is teachers leaving. My children do not have any former teachers who have stayed and this concerns me.

Attending Roan Forest was a great experience for my child. The teachers are fantastic and the administration demands excellence. It is the only exemplary rated school in the district and it shows. There is an active group of volunteers seen daily at the school.

My children were enrolled in this school for 1 1/2 years (we moved) and I would highly recommend it. High standards for teachers and students alike. Loads of dedicated volunteers. Brand new school (in 2003) with all the bells and whistles. Only problem witnessed was due to the very strong leadership of principal (some felt too strong) caused backlash among staff. Needs a little 'softening' in that regard.

Roan Forest has a rich, learning environment. My son attended kindergarten there last year and the things he learned and shared with us were amazing!

Roan Forest Trailblazers are taught core curriculum. I was new to this method of instruction but was quickly impressed with the type of in depth knowledge my first grader was coming home with. The PTA has the usual few active volunteers who carry the load for the many. The teachers are motivated and proud of their profession and it shows. If you can get Mrs Hopkins for 1st grade you will be impressed. The schoold district keeps wanting to pass more Bond Elections to make themselves one of the highest taxing entities but they were unsuccessful this last go around. I would support this if the money went staright into the class room but it does not.
