Thornton Elementary School Reviews

As the parent of child who spent her kinder through 4th grade year at Thornton, I am deeply disappointed in the administrative staff and how they handled a bullying situation. We are now moving to another school.

As the parent of a first grader I was very apprehensive as to what would be taught to my child, but then I realized my child was in good hands. Each child is encouraged to do their personal best without being labeled as the smart or dumb kids. The teachers are highly skilled and work hard to bring out the best in each child. The teacher always encouraged her students and gave them the confidence they needed to go into the world!

Thornton provides an amazing, well-rounded education that allows students to participate in physical education, music, drama, and visual arts in addition to the academic curriculum provided by enthusiastic and dedicated teachers.

Thornton's Accountability Rating is Academically Acceptable. The teachers are all very dedicated to the children. This year they have a new pricipal, and she seems to have the school running very smoothly and you get a good feeling from her. The parents are very involved in the PTA and the future of the children.
