Rick Hawkins High School Reviews

This is an excellent school that has a very caring staff. There are less than 300 students and that means only about 10 or 12 students per class. Students get a real chance at this school. There are some really nice students there, a few not so nice but thats because their parents are to lazy to teach them in any better and think it's someone elses responsibility. But over all I really love this school.

When I enrolled my two children in this school two years ago I believed their marketing hype. They marketed the school as a place where dicipline and learning were the priority. We were told our kids would get a high quality education to prepare them for college. This was not the case at all. There is some discipline but it comes and goes. They are not preparing the kids for college. How can you prepare for college if you never have homework, term papers or do any kind of research? My kids grades are great because they are not challanged. A child can atted Hawkins HIgh School and get good grades just for showing up. The test scores and rating on this site are proof of this. Do your homework before enrolling your kids in this school. This school has grown too fast and lost touch with their goals.

I taught at this school for a few years and all the administration cares about is money. They pack as many students as they can in a classroom and have teachers and staff with criminal backgrounds. Most teachers are unhappy and so dont really care about the students, they are just there to collect a paycheck.

This school is a charter school it doesnt offer such riggar courses needed for colleges, so i say its good for kids who fall behind and need an easy grade to catch up.

This will be my sons second year attending r.H.H.S. At first i was really set back at the condition the school was in, since it was in desperate need of repair. I almost pulled him due to this fact. I am so happy to say I did not pull him! The previous school he attended was so huge that he fell between the cracks. Here he has been taking advanced classes in several classes. My son adores this school and loves the staff who are genuinely concerned for him. The teachers even call our home! The atmosphere is is warm and although the progress seems to be slow on the repair of the school I will continue to overlook this to gain what I feel cannot be given in a public school, genuine concern and a positive image of helping these young adults succeed.
