We have not been to LRB in quite a while. We go bc the in-laws like it. It was always mediocre, ok food. Not anything special, but no particular complaints.
We recently had 2 special events and one family member is now an invalid, so we ordered out. Both times the food was horrible!
The second time (for me) it was practically inedible!
The first time I ordered a "filet" (was this supposed to be a filet minon??? The steak was very thin. It was ordered med rare, but was nearer to a well cooked medium. The other filets were equally as "skinny".
I do not remember this ever being the case there.
The second time -- a few weeks later, again a filet (I should have known better) - the steak was so thin I thought at first they made a mistake and gave me one of those pre-made hamburger patties! I had ordered it "rare" because of last time, thinking it would be closer to med rare this time. Instead, I got it well-done. This time they even labeled the boxes - mine said "rare"!
I had to put steak sauce (which I hate and NEVER use) on mine to choke it down!
Maybe they are buying cheaper cuts of meat due to the economy or trimming their cuts to make them go farther. If given a choice, I will never eat anything from Little Red Barn again.
2 horrible experiences in a row mean that the quality of the restaurant is consistently bad and not just a fluke! Stay away!
Thank you for an enjoyable dining experience!

It was so nice not having to wait in line, or outside, before being seated. As soon as we entered, we were escorted by friendly employees to our table with a nice cool salad. The food was extremely good, and the price was reasonable for a family dining out.
The atmosphere was country western, and very relaxing.
Pros: Immediate Service: Great Food: Courteous Service
Cons: None
